Obama Argues for Total Congressional Authority

From Reuters:

"Ultimately, I am confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress," Obama said at a news conference with the leaders of Canada and Mexico.
Commenter on the linked story FIBob summed up my thoughts succinctly: "President Obama seems to be arguing that any law passed by Congress must stand, simply because an elected body created it, and that the Supreme Court should simply go along."

You know, for a former law professor, he sure seems to know very little about how the law actually works.
